Trees and shrubs purchased from Lakeshore Lawn and Landscape, if installed and maintained according to our care guidelines
Newly planted landscapes often experience transplant shock, particularly during hot summer months. Proper care is essential to minimize stress and ensure healthy growth. Once installation or purchase is complete, it is the owner’s responsibility to provide adequate watering and fertilization (as needed) during the growing season (May to October).
- Damaged by pests, insects, disease, extreme weather, or other environmental factors beyond our control
- Affected by seasonal dieback, where proper pruning and care will restore the plant’s health
Impacted by weed growth in mulch or topsoil, as dormant weed seeds are naturally present in the soil
IMPORTANT: A plant that dies due to drought is NOT covered under this warranty. If you do not water your plants, they will die.
During hot summer months, daily watering may be required. Continue watering into fall, even as temperatures drop.
Water at least three times per week for the first three weeks, even if it rains.
After three weeks, reduce to twice per week, rain or shine.
If the plant still has leaves, follow the same watering schedule as spring plantings until the leaves fall off.
If the plant has already lost its leaves, soak the soil thoroughly once after planting and resume watering in spring when new foliage appears.
Best Practices for Watering:
Use soaker hoses or a timer system to ensure deep, even watering.
Water early in the morning to prevent evaporation and reduce the risk of plant rot.
Water not just at the base, but also several feet beyond the drip line to encourage deep root growth.
Proper watering is the most critical factor in plant survival. By following these guidelines, you can help ensure the long-term health of your landscape.
